Hi all,
I'm asking to you, if it's really necessary to have a homepage like www.penspinning.fr.
It's better to have general opinion, so we can make the best homepage possible if it's necessary ^^
My opinion :
Why it should be necessary :
-Because foreign persons that don't know a damn about spinning, and come to www.penspinning.ch, can directly know what it talks about, and what is PenSpinning
-It looks much more Pro.
-If it's a classic and pro homepage, PenSpinner's foreigns would be more attracted, and it could make some of them to be PenSpinners.
Why it shouldn't :
-If it's a CMS, we should have an admin that exclusively manage the website, because it's hard to manage both board an website.
-It just shouldn't be a CMS because it's too complicated for noobs.
What should be really done in my opinion :
Just a classic home page, with a link to the other boards, and a link to the SPC Board (nooo really ? T_T), that explains what PenSpinning really is, and a few other things.
With a link to a page of the website that explains the basics of PenSpinning, with link to website where tutorials are. Because if a non-spinner try the basics, and really fail at it, with no intention, he wouldn't go further in PenSpinning, but a person who's really interested, is going to go further, register in the board, and go into website with tutorials to learn.
And also, i think it's much pro and classic to have just a home page with a few links and a description of penspinning instead of news that noobs wouldn't give a damn, and wouldn't interest anyone by the way.
But a news page could be done, it's not a problem, but maybe not in the really first index page.
My fingers hurt of writing, your turn ^^

I agree in all points but I suppose, the homepage will be in english. The problem with that is, that someone in the german part of switzerland heard about penspinning and want to know something about it, he searches a german page and finds the GPC and not us. There, he will learn the basics, before he finds out, that there is a swiss community. It will be the same with french speaking swiss and the FPSB.
I think, if someone want to make a homepage, it should be in french and german and maybe even italian. English would be useless.

You're 100% right. I thought about this, and we could make a german, french, italian, and english text version, it is not a problem.
Then for the GPC, we could ask to GPC's admin to post a link at our forum, i'm pretty sure he will be okay.

the idea is really, really good I think, it should be exploited. But what do you want to but exatly on this website ? Promos, collabs, tricks and mod tutorials ? That should be discussed.
I'm 200000000000000000000000000000% FOR the multi-language website. It's not so hard to do and I could do the german translation of the french text (and I could give it to a swiss-german penspinner to correct the grammatic mistakes xD), for the Italian part...I know some Italian people that could do the translation or Notturno could do it (if I remember right he's Italian, isn't he ?)
I spoke of tutorials in the furter lines : Why couldn't we do a tutorial section on this website with photos of the various trick sequences eg : TA : departure position ->impuls -> spinning "time" -> catch with explications in the 4 national languages under the pictures and a video in normal motion and slow motion at the end, that the tricks can be really understood ??

HHMM you want to creat an homepage, hhhmmm, I think it isn't necesarry,But wenn you want to show tricks on this site,it's a good idea.
